Choose the calculation that matches the question

Use the Percentage Calculator when the question asks for a portion or rate. Use the Discount Calculator when you need a reduction and final price. Use the Average Calculator only for values that represent comparable things. For every tool, write down the inputs and identify their unit before calculating.

Check the result before you rely on it

Use a simple estimate to see whether the output is plausible. An average should normally lie between the lowest and highest value. A percentage should match the original base number. A discount should leave a final price equal to the original price minus the saving.
